Tasting notes
Medium red. Slightly high-toned aromas of kirsch, red cherry, red licorice and eucalyptus. Sweet on entry, then penetrating and tight in the middle, with a bit of a hard edge due to dominant acidity. The note of red licorice repeats in the mouth. Structured but quite closed. This was closed in barrel yet seemed suppler in texture a year ago.

(a blend of 25- and 55-year-old vines) Good saturated medium red. Pungent aromas of darker fruits, licorice, tar and mint; more liqueur-like than the samples from Vosne-Romanee. Full, rich, supple and generous, with a positive hint of Gevrey rusticity. Sweet cherry and raspberry flavors are still a bit withdrawn. In fact, this is quite youthfully closed today. Finishes with fine tannins and very good length.
