Tasting notes
Full bore and hedonistic, yet still holding everything together and showing impeccable class and character, the 2010 Mollydooker Shiraz Carnival of Love is 100% Shiraz that delivers a wild array of black and blue fruits, roasted meats, licorice, lavender, and hints of charred herbs on the nose. Exuberant and decidedly ripe, this hits the palate with a full-bodied, rich, yet light texture, layers of sweet fruit, good acidity, and a clean, lengthy finish that highlights ripe, polished tannin. While not for the faint of heart, this is impeccably put together and one delicious drink. It needs a solid hour decant now, and will shine for 7-10 years.

Produced of 100% Shiraz from a single vineyard, the 2010 Carnival of Love was aged in American oak, 97% new. Very deep purple-black in color, it is intensely scented of blueberry preserves, creme de cassis and warm black cherries with an undercurrent of baking spices, licorice, mocha, vanilla, toast and eucalypt. Very full and densely packed with warm blackberry and spice flavors on the palate, it has a solid structure of medium to firm velvety tannins and very crisp acid, giving way to a very long finish. Still quite tight and primary, it should drink best 2014 to 2023+. Importer: Bacchus Importers, Dundalk, MD; tel. (410) 484-2700
