The 2018 Rully 1er Cru Les Margotés has also turned out very well, mingling scents of crisp Anjou pear and green apple with aromas of orange oil, blanched almonds and white flowers. Medium to full-bodied, satiny but incisive, it's deep and nicely concentrated, with tangy acids and a mineral finish. As readers will remember, this site is the continuation of Grésigny but turns subtly toward the south, and it was planted in 1946.

Bottled. Much finer than the village Rully though still with a slightly rustic edge. The acidity is really pretty aggressive! (JR)
