Score 91/100 · Drink 2023-2032, Neal Martin, Jan 2022

The 2017 Volnay Taillepieds 1er Cru presents a refined, elegant nose of dark berry fruit and a touch of sous-bois . The palate offers sappy red berry fruit. Chewier than its peers, perhaps displaying a little more pigeage . Good depth and plenty of body, though it needs a little more breeding. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2017 tasting.
