Tasting notes
Score 86-88/100 · Drink 2016-2021, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Dec 2014

The 2013 Savigny les Beaune 1er Cru les Gravains was affected by poor flowering and hail in 2013 – losing just over half the crop (the yield was 19hl/ha). It has a slight reduction on the nose at the time of tasting from barrel. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, good body with raspberry and mulberry fruit, though it is missing some delineation and precision on the finish.

Rich and purple-fruited, very sweet, on the palate. Fine tannins and lip smacking. Lacks a little purity but certainly delivers pleasure. (JR)
