Tasting notes
The 1986 Sigalas Rabaud has a strange nose at first, taking time to coalesce, displaying just a bit of volatility and a bit diffuse considering the vintage. After a while, this shows some TCA. The palate is better, but to be honest, it lacks real weight and density. It's airy and fresh. Yet it needs more botrytis concentration on the finish. A bit underwhelming. Tasted at the Sigalas Rabaud vertical at the winery.

Sigalas Rabaud made a complex, elegant, botrytis-filled 1986. The honeyed, flowery, spicy aromas leap from the glass in this beautifully proportioned wine. In the mouth, there is fine acidity, some rich, honeyed, pear and pineapple-like fruit, and a soft, yet adequately delineated, long, alcoholic finish. Anticipated maturity: Now-2002. Last tasted, 11/90.
