Tasting notes
The 2019 Reserva (90% Tempranillo, 10% Graciano) was aged 24 months in barrel (60% French, 40% American). Aromatic oak leads the nose, with sandalwood foremost, over black fruit and hints of menthol and lavender. On the palate, it is compact in structure, with both grape and wood tannins present, moving through a tight, chalk-textured core. A structured Rioja with pronounced flavor intensity.

With a small amount of Graciano to brighten the Tempranillo, the 2019 Rioja Reserva is classic and full-bodied in style, a vineyard selection specific to the Reserva that gets fermented in stainless steel and 18 months aging in more French oak than American. It’s brimming in dark black cherry, plum, and black licorice, with wood spice through a long finish. Drink 2029-2039.
The 2019 Reserva, composed of 85% Tempranillo and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon from Rioja Alavesa, underwent 18 months of aging in barrel. It displays a garnet hue and a purple sheen in the glass. The nose reveals white pepper, ash and hints of pencil box, complemented by caramel and black fruit notes. Indulgent and rich, the juicy flow leads to a tasty finish. This is a crowd-pleasing wine.
