Score 17.5/20 · Drink 2023-2029, Tamlyn Currin, jancisrobinson.com, Sep 2023
It's from the same vineyard as the Geronimo 2021 but 2022 was a difficult vintage and he threw 25% of the fruit off. Smells sweeter, also of wild strawberries but more intense. More cherries. Cherry blossom. There is tangibly more intensity and concentration in the 2022 and it's beautiful! So many layers here: it’s got the crunch of cumin and caraway, the sweet spices of cardamom and nutmeg, tumbling florals and fruit that is sweet and pure and singing like a skylark. So long. The tannins are different from those in the 2021: more rocky and assured, more textured. But still very pliant. This is stunning. (TC)
