The 2021 Santenay Clos des Hâtes offers dark cherry and blackcurrant on the nose, quite floral with wilted iris flowers. The palate is slightly chalky in texture and saline in the mouth with a gritty, black, olive-tinged finish. Fine.

Aromas of plums, raspberries, orange zest and cinnamon introduce the 2021 Santenay Clos des Hâtes, a medium to full-bodied, deep and structured wine framed by powdery structuring tannins. If the Chassagne-Montrachet La Goujonne is more immediate, this will reward a little patience.
