Tasting notes
Tasted at the winery, the Lis Neris 2022 Friuli Isonzo Chardonnay Jurosa shows a refined and linear personality shaped by calcareous alluvial gravel soils known locally as “claps" found near the Isonzo riverbed. The wine is fermented and matured for 11 months in 500-liter French oak botti, balancing structure with precision. The aromas and palate reveal pronounced mineral notes with hints of warm bread, pie crust and a subtle saline finish that lingers. Despite the warmth of the 2022 vintage, the wine maintains freshness and composure, with a harmonious texture and clarity. This is a particularly beautiful and complete Chardonnay, combining elegance with depth. Production is 25,000 bottles.

Full bottle 1,330 g. Mango/melon nose. Quite sweet – I wonder what the residual sugar is on this? Candied fruit. Mango, passion fruit, lime syrup and tinned peaches. Quite intense and the acidity is brightly and firmly contoured but it needs to be very well chilled. (TC)
