Aromas of blackberries, blueberries, crushed stones and dried flowers. Medium- to full-bodied with crunchy fruit, chewy tannins, drive and excellent length. Terra cotta and stones come through at the end. Better in two or three years.

The 2021 Reserva was produced with a blend of 86% Tempranillo, 6% Graciano, 6% Mazuelo and 2% Garnacha from many small plots selected by their ripeness, acidity and concentration. The grapes fermented in small concrete and stainless steel vats with indigenous yeasts, and it matured in 225-liter French and 5% American oak barrels for 18 months. It has the complexity, power and freshness of the 2021s. They aim for a renewed classical style. It comes in at 14% alcohol, with a pH of 3.62 and 5.35 grams of acidity, and like the 2018, it's a fresher wine reflecting a cooler year, with super elegant, sleek and polished tannins. Superb! 30,600 bottles and some larger formats produced. It was bottled in May 2024.
The 2021 Reserva Contino blends 86% Tempranillo with 6% Mazuelo, 6% Graciano and 2% Garnacha. This was sourced from vineyards along the Ebro River. Aged for 18 months in French oak vats (95%) and American barrels (5%), it opens with expressive balsamic aromas and a subtle oak backdrop, followed by cherry, white pepper and herbal nuances. Dry, smooth and juicy, this offers refined fruit and delicate freshness. The 2021 is a silky red of finesse and precision.
