Score 87/100 · Drink 2019-2026, William Kelley, Wine Advocate, Jan 2020
The 2017 Côte de Nuits-Villages Clos du Chapeau opens in the glass with a delicate bouquet of red berries, herbs and spices. On the palate, it's medium-bodied, delicately fleshy and succulent, with melting tannins and moderate concentration. It should drink well on release.

The 2017 Côte de Nuits Village Clos du Chapeau, made with 14% whole clusters and matured in 30% new oak, has a vibrant red cherry and crushed strawberry bouquet with touches of sous-bois . The palate is smooth on the entry, with crisp tannin and a touch of brusqueness, but it all melds together on the black-tea-infused finish. Give this 18-24 months in bottle.
