The 2018 Pinot Noir Red Dust is rich with sun-ripened berries, coniferous herbs, and rocky mineral earth, and the iron-rich palate offers more tannic structure, noted with raspberry seed, quinine, dried herbs, and cedar. It has a more persistent finish with a long and savory character. Only 138 cases were produced. Drink 2025-2035.

Continues the candied character of the Black Walnut, adding more spice and the most delicious caramelised edge too – is that toasty oak, perhaps? Seems to have that kind of torrefaction element. Pinot in all its finery, expressing very real terroir. (RH)

The Red Dust cuvée needs a lot of air to open as it is quite subtle and also nuanced on the nose, while immediately impactful and expressive on the palate. This is a wine full of energy and palate presence showing earthier elements with a dusty, ferrous character and darker-toned spiced fruits. It will surely continue to evolve and the natural palate density as well as structure and length implies it has what it needs to age. There is plenty of tannin, but it is silky, pliant and balanced with mouth-watering acidity. (ECB)

Saturated crimson. Powerful, smoke-tinged aromas of musky red berries, cherry cola, pungent flowers and incense. Palate-staining, finely etched raspberry, kirsch, blueberry and fruitcake flavors smoothly blend depth and energy. Musky earth and exotic spice notes emerge with air and carry through a very long, chewy finish that features framing tannins and a sweetening touch of mocha.
