Tasting notes
Very pale gold. Slate, flint and nut. Peach and ripe lime on the palate, with plenty of richness, but a fine line of acidity to balance beautifully. Long and clean. (TJ)

The 2016 Brauneberger Juffer Sonnenuhr Riesling Auslese is very clear and fine on the nose where grapefruit and lemon notes intertwine with very fine mineral aromas. On the palate this is a highly delicate and stimulating Auslese with a lush but highly finessed and salty finish. This is fabulous. Tasted March 2018 (AP #6 17).
Meltingly good sweetness on the palate, which has a lovely burnt sugar flavour on the palate. Steely too. Magnificent in its structure – but there isn’t perhaps quite as much primary fruit as some. (RH)
More of that herbal/fumy wild-ferment aroma here. Rich, honeyed and generous on the palate, though the richness of fruit is in complete harmony with the acidity. Viscous and wonderfully gentle even with the bright, enlivening acidity. Almost therapeutic in its comforting but lively character. (JH)
