The 2021 Pinot Noir Gathered Stones, grown on basalt soils, opens with flint and scorched earth tones that slowly give way to red and black berry, coffee and tobacco aromas. The medium-bodied palate is savory and flinty. It has a gently rustic texture, vibrant acidity and a latent finish. 122 cases were made.

The 2021 Pinot Noir Gathered Stones is dusty and floral, with a dark blend of crushed black cherries, ground cloves, flowery undergrowth and grilled herbs. This is round and supple, with mineral-drenched wild berry fruits and violet inner florals that cascade throughout. This lingers with a spicy concentration, leaving the mouth watering for more as a bump of residual acidity and hints of sour citrus hang around on the close.

Same vineyard as Hopewell Hills. Pale purple in colour. Still savoury and dense. Layered with dried orange peel and dried peony petals. Impactful on the palate with tight, fine-grained tannin and linear acidity. A touch of vanilla. More grip on the palate a bit chewier than Hopewell Hills. Evolving oak profile with spice and vanilla.
