Pure, fresh blackcurrant. Succulent. Floury tannin, fine balance and has the purity of fruit to age well. (RH)

The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon Samantha's is a ripe, plush wine bursting with dark blackberries, spices, licorice and new leather. The aromas and flavors build effortlessly to a round, explosive finish imbued with the essence of graphite, flowers, cassis, minerals and crushed rocks. This is an especially ripe, flashy wine loaded with depth and pure energy. In 2009 the blend is 86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Merlot and 2% Cabernet Franc.

I tasted a number of terrific wines with proprietor Leslie Rudd and winemaker Patrick Sullivan. The passion, dedication and sheer ambition here are impressive. Tel. (707) 944-8577
