Tasting notes
Score 89-93/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Mar 2005

Bright full ruby-red. Wild black fruits, minerals and chocolatey oak on the nose. Sweet, dense and minerally, but less showy than the Brulees. Very full on the back end, where the flavors mount slowly and coat the entire palate. Still, this is a bit muted today. A classic 2003 in the way it will rely more on its major ripe tannins than its acidity for longevity.
