The 2020 Château Grand Barrail Lamarzelle Figeac is firm and savory, with assorted red and black fruits and earthy tobacco notes in its medium-bodied profile. Drink bottles over the coming decade. It benefits from air if drinking any time soon.

The 2020 Grand Barrail La Marzelle Figeac has a pleasant nose with brambly red fruit tinged with dark chocolate and light earthy scents. The 28% Cabernet Franc is expressive here. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins and fine acidity. It's nicely balanced with a slightly ferrous, allspice-tinged finish. Definitely one of the better wines from this estate in recent years.

The 2020 Grand Barrail Lamarzelle Figeac is in conflict with itself. On one hand, it shows good radiance of fruit and depth, but the tannins remain astringent and the wine just lacks focus. This could have been better.
