Score 88/100 · Drink 2018-2023, Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Sep 2015
(the crop level was just 12 hectoliters per hectare, according to Matrot): Aromas of apricot, apple and honey are less pristine than those of the 2014. Fairly tight and high-pitched in the mouth but ultimately pliant, offering good energy and sweetness to its ripe apricot flavor. A serious, chewy village wine.

Spiky greengage and lemon fruit. Taut but with the acidity better in check than on the St-Romain even though it is still high. Pure and persistent in a tense, high-acid style. (JH)

(no new oak; significant crop loss due to hail here): Hints of exotic fruits and smoke on the nose and palate. A bit diffuse for this wine at Matrot, reflecting modest ripeness.
