Tasting notes
Very rich, gorgeous, full and winning. Broad but persistent and sufficiently vibrant. Like all 1989 champagnes, more amply proportioned than most, but this has real zest too. (JR)

The most fun to drink now! Deep gold, mushrooms and rich truffley nose. Very, very big and bold and all-enveloping. Envelopes the palate. Embraces you like a feather cushion. Mid-length again. Delicate texture. Definite sweetness. (JR)
A most voluptuous, honey-saturated Krug. Already richly evolved. Butterscotchy, with a long aftertaste. Less classical than the '88, but just as good for the moment. Richard Juhlin, Champagne Club

About the producer

Krug is a remarkable Champagne House which only makes prestige cuvées. The wines – with their distinctive rich, complex, oxidative style – are some of the region’s best.
