Tasting notes
Medium red. Musky nose offers scents of red berries, rose petal, game, underbrush and cola. Wonderfully sensual and edge-free, boasting outstanding inner-mouth perfume to its flavors of cranberry, pomegranate, raspberry, flowers and building minerality. Finishes with suave, fine-grained tannins and terrific length and lift, leaving behind an exhilarating flavor of tart red berries.

The 2013 Gevrey-Chambertin Lavaux St Jacques 1er Cru has a bright redcurrant and raspberry bouquet with hints of tobacco coming through with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with rounded red berry fruit, fine structure, a Gevrey that feels light on its toes with a touch of white pepper on the finish. Lovely.
(12% potential alcohol chaptalized to 12.8%): Dark red. Wild small black and red fruits, mint, menthol and rose petal on the nose, along with a whiff of game. At once cool and sweet, offering densely packed but pliant flavors of redcurrant, blueberry, mint and menthol. Finishes with very fine-grained tannins and lingering sweetness Saouma purchases Lavaux Saint-Jacques from two growers.
