Tasting notes
White raisin, peach preserves, anise and highly floral honey combine on a heady nose and a delicate, strikingly creamy, even slightly buttery palate. Seamless and ethereal, this elixir finishes with sensational sheer persistence, welcome tangy juiciness of fresh lime and pineapple cutting its honeyed richness and textural creaminess, yet somehow without disturbing a wonderful sense of harmony. There isn’t a bit of superfluous sweetness to this impeccably balanced effort (of which there were a hundred liters).

The 2017 Röttgen Auslese (AP 6) is clear, concentrated and fresh on the floral and honey-scented nose. On the palate, this is a delicate, lush, refined and salty Auslese with a seductive texture and fruit that tastes much finer and harmonious after 18 hours of aeration. Tasted March 2019.
