The 2019 Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes has a tightly wound bouquet with blackberry and light bilberry scents. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, fine backbone with a structured saline finish with a sustained peppery aftertaste. Afford this five or six years in a cellar.

The 2019 Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes, which includes 50% whole bunch and one-third new oak, finished its malolactic in September. It offers mainly black fruit on the nose, along with traces of charcoal and light blood orange notes. The palate is medium-bodied with saturated tannins, fine acidity and a sweet core of blue and black cherries toward the finish. Cracked black pepper lingers in the mouth long afterward.
