The Inama 2020 Soave Classico Foscarino has a savory bouquet with dried thyme and a touch of balsam herb that gives a 360° view onto the versatile Garganega grape. Aged in stainless steel with some oak, this wine offers primary aromas of citrus, apricot and Golden Delicious apple. Compared to some of the other releases in this portfolio, this expression from 2020 is slightly thinner in terms of mouthfeel and texture. Production is 46,000 bottles.

The 2020 Soave Classico Foscarino comes to life in the glass with a beguiling mix of crushed oyster shells, wet slate, dried pears and hints of lemon oil. This is round, verging on opulent in feel, with ripe orchard fruits and a pretty inner sweetness. Saline minerals add a more tactile feel toward the close. The 2020 finishes remarkably fresh yet potent, lingering on nuances of peach, melon and vanilla custard as a sour citrus twang punctuates the wine perfectly.
The 2020 Soave Classico Foscarino opens with wet slate and smoke evolving into young pear and hints of lemon. This showcases ripe orchard fruits with a pretty inner sweetness balanced by its salty acidity. It remains saline through the finale, long and staining with penetrating ripe orchard fruits. In fact, this is more extroverted in style, yet streamlined and nervous in feel. It will be interesting to see how the 2020 Foscarino evolves once in bottle. Tasted from a tank sample.
