Score 93/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Mar 2005

(just two barrels produced, from 75-year-old vines) Full medium ruby. Superripe aromas of black fruits, leather, meat and minerals; slightly syrah-like. Offers a confectionery, creamy sweetness and an utterly seamless texture, and yet the harmonious acids give shape and grip to this superconcentrated, thick wine. Finishes with very fine, sweet tannins and palate-saturating persistence. A knockout. Perrot-Minot will offer this special bottling again in 2004 but not in 2003.
