Score 91-93/100 · Drink 2019-2035, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Dec 2016

The 2015 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Combottes, which is matured in 60% new oak, has a sensual, quite opulent bouquet with red cherries, hoisin and hints of soy developing in the glass. There is almost something Oriental here. The palate is medium-bodied with fine definition, quite dense in the mouth with quite a grippy, structured finish that feels linear and correct. It will deserve another 4-5 years in bottle but it has the substance to deliver the goods.
