Tasting notes
The 2013 Vosne-Romanee 1er Cru les Chaumes has a reserved nose with muted black fruit and bilberry. The palate is firm with good depth, chewy in texture with impressive density on the finish. It was probably unfair for this to follow the more flattering Les Amoureuses as it shows just a little abruptness in comparison.

20% new oak. Deep crimson. Quite taut and tough. Not quite enough richness underneath. Pretty ungenerous on the palate. Very introvert. (JR)
