Tasting notes
Opaque ruby. A complex bouquet evokes ripe black and blue fruits, olive and vanilla, and a peppery nuance adds urgency and spicy lift. Juicy and energetic on the palate, offering sweet, nicely concentrated boysenberry, floral pastille and spicecake flavors that open up steadily on the back half. Fine-grained tannins add shape to a very long, energetic finish that leaves violet and allspice notes behind.

As to the reds, the 2015 Crozes Hermitage Alberic Bouvet from Gilles Robin is a wonderfully fruity, forward, sexy Syrah that has tons of ripe wild strawberry and black raspberry notes intermixed with hints of graphite and sweaty saddle leather. This medium to full-bodied, rounded, beautifully textured effort is ideal for drinking in its first 7-8 years of life.
