Badia a Coltibuono's 2015 Chianti Classico is a soft, fruity wine to drink now and over the next 2-3 years, while the sweet red cherry Sangiovese fruit retains its freshness.

The 2015 Chianti Classico is a beautifully bright and lively expression of Sangiovese (with 10% Canaiolo, Ciliegiolo and Colorino). This wine makes great use of the extra heat of the vintage to present compact but rich fruit detailing. The acidity is there and so is that carefully executed balance between fruit and structure. In all, this is a mid-weight effort that keeps the palate clean and refreshed. Badia a Coltibuono offers great value here.
Gaiole in Chianti. 90% Sangiovese, 4% Canaiolo, 4% Ciliegiolo, 2% Colorino. Just mid crimson. Gorgeous raspberry and cherry-confit nose with real lift and a hint of marzipan. Youthful palate tightly packed with stalky tannins. Built for the future. (WS)
