Score 88/100 · Drink 2001-2011, Robert Parker, Oct 2001

The dark ruby-colored 1998 Tassinaia is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Sangiovese, and Merlot aged in French oak for 12 months prior to bottling. Copious quantities of black currant and cherry fruit are followed by medium body, sweet tannin, and plenty of spicy oak. Drink it over the next decade. Importer: Kobrand Corp., New York, NY; tel. Very deep, blackish color. Intense, focused aroma of sweet cassis, with the oak already absorbed. Soft, full and elegant, with classy flavors of black fruits and subtle oak.
