Deep ruby. Much more red-fruited than any of the 2008, 2009 and 2010. Sweetly lifted fruit and light spice. On the palate, the oak is a little more evident than it was on the nose and there’s a more savoury character adding complexity but this has a fine, sweet delicacy to it even though it has shows impressive persistence, and the tannins are present but resolved. Very toothsome and finishes fresh and elegant. (JH)

Mostly Merlot. Ripe, red fruited, a little bloody. It's fresh but also a bit meaty and savoury (maybe a touch of Brett?). Tannins are firm but don't stick out. (JH)
