Score 91/100 · Drink 2001-2011, Robert Parker, Jun 2001

The Roche d'Ampset is an outstanding example of 100% old vine (50-60 years) Nebbiolo. The 1997 exhibits succulence, glycerin, and fat. It is a deeply concentrated, dense effort revealing oodles of black cherry fruit, perfumed personality, sweet tannin, and medium to full body. While it is impossible to resist, it should drink well for a decade. A Marc de Grazia Selection, various American importers, including Michael Skurnik, Syosset, NY; tel.
