Bright, light yellow. Brisk aromas of nectarine and white flowers. Much more ethereal and closed than the Referts, with high-pitched stone fruit and mineral flavors dominating. The Referts is sweet and more open, while this finishes adamantly dry, with a strong stoniness. This may surpass the Referts six or seven years down the road.

Very racy. Bit of a racehorse. Though without the depth one might expect of a premier cru. (JR)

(recently sulfited following a very late malo) Green-tinged yellow. Much cooler on the nose than the Referts, offering lemon, lime and white flowers. Higher in pitch in the mouth as well, and considerably tighter today, with a strong floral quality contributing to the impression of energy. This is hiding its richness today but may be even longer on the aftertaste than the Referts.
