The 2019 La Louvière Blanc has a vibrant nose with grapefruit and touches of wild peach, lightly spiced and quite nuanced in style. The palate is well-balanced with a fine bead of acidity, but unlike the bottle tasted last year, it does not really build on the nose's promise and feels a bit flat-footed on the finish. Not sure how representative this is, so I will not score based on this example. Tasted blind at the Southwold annual tasting.

Bright citrus, lemon zest, and orange blossom notes all emerge from the 2019 Château La Louvière Blanc, a nicely textured, medium-bodied, fruit-forward white with notable purity as well as length. It brings fruit, texture, and richness in a vibrant, classy package geared for drinking over the coming 3-5 years.
Bottled under Diam 30, the 2019 La Louvière Blanc wafts from the glass with discreetly reductive aromas of nectarine, citrus oil and subtle botanicals. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and incisive, it's deep and layered, with tangy acids and a long, mouthwatering finish.
About the producer
Wine has been made at this estate since the 1300s, but its modern history begins when the Lurton family purchased it in 1965. The property was in disrepair, but the Lurtons have restored the château, winery and vineyards.
