The 2022 La Tour Figeac has a completely seductive bouquet of rose, cassis, mulberries and flowers. Medium to full-bodied, suave and seamless, it has a fleshy core of fruit, enveloping and layered texture and a long, perfumed and lively finish. This blend of 65% Merlot and 35% Cabernet Franc is a real success and a wine that always rewards patience.

Never the biggest or richest wine in a vintage, the 2022 Château La Tour Figeac is nevertheless beautifully balanced and elegant, with a pretty perfume of spicy red and black fruits, savory flowers, camphor, and spicy wood. Medium-bodied on the palate, with a supple, elegant mouthfeel, it should drink nicely over the coming 15 years or so.

The 2022 La Tour Figeac is rather green and woody on the nose. The palate is sweet on the entry but feels rather smudged and lacks delineation and freshness on the finish. I could not fathom this Saint-Émilion in barrel and in bottle, I remain to be convinced about its potential. I will reserve judgement for now.

A juicy and expressive red with plum and berry character as well as hints of crushed stones and grilled citrus. Medium- to full-bodied, it has juicy fruit and a flavorful finish. 65% merlot and 35% cabernet franc. 10% whole-bunch fermentation. Very attractive now but even better in two or three years.
