Score 91/100 · Drink 2024-2035, Erin Larkin, Wine Advocate, May 2024

The 2022 Chardonnay is nutty and a little medicinal on the nose, with inflections of arnica and aniseed, peach essence and struck match, lemongrass, custard powder, scraped vanilla pod, flint and brine. In the mouth, the acidity throws a spear through the heart of the fruit, and this goes long through the finish. It is rich and yet taut, undulating and stable. It's a powerful wine, framed by acid and fine but firm tannins. 13.5% alcohol, sealed under screw cap.

This is a chardonnay that provides considerable generosity in a landscape of abstemious linear structure. In other words, it packs flavor! White fig, nougat, creamed cashew and nectarine, a drive of mineral pungency and juicy freshness, all straying long. This is an eminently drinkable wine, strongly reminiscent of founder Dr. Bailey Carrodus\' MO of savory poise, often a distance from the New World norm. Drink or hold. Screw cap.
