Tasting notes
The 2020 Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru has a beautiful bouquet with brambly red fruit, briar, crushed stone and rose petals. It is elegant and very complex. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-boned tannins. This is full of grace and precision, tensile from start to finish, poised and energetic. This is a Grand Cru that keeps you hooked, mercurial in the glass but never relinquishing its credentials. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.

Cask sample. Subtle, rounded, elegant tannins and bright acidity here. Not at all over-extracted. Very fine, great ageing potential but not at all showy. (AWH)
The 2020 Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru has a very well-defined bouquet with vivacious red berry fruit, crushed stone, orange zest and rose petals - almost like a Domaine Claude Dugat. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, vivacious and refined, taut and fresh with a lingering, saline finish. This is a sophisticated Chapelle-Chambertin that lingers long in the mouth. Superb.
