The 2022 Condrieu Vernillon has turned out very well, revealing a vibrant, lively bouquet of pear, white peach, flowers and honeysuckle. Medium to full-bodied, ample and satiny, it's perfectly balanced with a fleshy core of fruit and a harmonious, dense mid-palate, concluding with a long, delicate and floral finish. This is a stunning very delicate Condrieu matured entirely in terracotta stoneware containers.

The 2022 Condrieu Vernillon is terrific, and I continue to love this release from Jamet. Brought up in jars and concrete eggs, it has wonderful purity in its white peach, subtle tangerine, and honeyed flower-like aromatics, and it hits the palate with medium-bodied richness, a fresher, vibrant, focused mouthfeel, and outstanding length. There's only a tiny amount made, but this is well worth seeking out!
An enticing nose with some perfume, honey and white peach. The palate has some good phenolic grip but it is not too much – ripe fruits but still with some freshness beneath as well. A textured mid palate and while the finish is broad – but not expansive – and weighty it has a linear freshness as well. Very fine and elegant. (AC)
