Score 93/100 · Drink 2016-2035, Stephan Reinhardt, Wine Advocate, Oct 2016

Intensely yellow in color, the 2001 Vouvray Clos du Bourg Moelleux displays a lovely, elegant and precisely aromatic bouquet of stewed stone fruits along with some delicate spicy and earthy flavors. Round and elegant, perfectly balanced and with a finesse-full acidity, this is a delicate moelleux with first signs of maturity. Nice mushroom flavors in the finish. It is almost light due to its balance, finesse and vitality, though the finish is intense, aromatic and structured by firm (in this case a bit austere) yet (still) fine tannins. (You can't always await for the perfect bottle, if the wine is under cork for so many years.)
