Tasting notes
Outstanding. Very ripe but fresh aromas include those of liqueur-like dark cherry, fennel, wood and soft floral wisps. The concentrated, powerful and intense medium-bodied flavors flash excellent size and weight while culminating in a robust and lengthy if borderline rustic finale that is overtly austere today; indeed there is a touch of asperity. This is definitely not a wine that is likely to drink especially well young, in fact I would recommend it only to those who expressly intend to cellar it.

The 2020 Chambolle-Musigny Les Charmes 1er Cru has 38% whole bunch. It has one of the finest aromatics from the Domaine with quite precise and pure brambly red fruit, crushed stone and rose petal scents. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, well-integrated oak, fine grip towards the finish. Give it four to five years in bottle.
