Tasting notes
Inky ruby. Expansive, mineral- and spice-tinged aromas of cherry liqueur, black currant and olive paste are complemented by a sexy floral quality that builds as the wine opens up. Juicy, alluringly sweet black and blue fruit liqueur flavors show impressive depth and spicy thrust. Delivers a compelling blend of power and vivacity and finishes very long, with persistent sweetness and velvety, well-knit tannins.

100% Serine and Syrah (80 to over 100 years old). 50% destemmed. Terroir: Les Eygats and Patou – on the mid slopes. Ageing: 24 months in new and one-year-old oak (Allier – Tronçais). Very deep crimson. High toned with a hint of reduction at this point. Very ambitious and demanding – hard work on the palate with masses of acidity and tannin. Needs lots of time. Very edgy and tough. (JR)
