Tasting notes
The 2023 Graacher Himmelreich Auslese (Long Gold Capsule / Auction) is deep, refined and intense on the nose that reveals tropical fruit aromas along with delicate spice notes. Intense yet refined and savory on the palate, this is a rich and intense, very generous and long, savory and lemony Auslese with crunchy grip and remarkable mineral and tension-giving acidity. 8% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine from AP 19 24 in January 2025.

Stony, peachy citrus, with a piercing freshness and a light herbal note. On the palate, this is gorgeously pure and fresh, rounded, creamy lemon and (almost) apricot. Sweetness and acidity in perfect harmony. A baby. (JH)
The 2023 Riesling Graacher Himmelreich Auslese, made virtually without botrytis from fully ripe grapes, offers a shy tone of stone and yeast. The palate features Mirabelle jelly with lovely overtones of lemon balm and fern, wonderfully cut by freshness with a pithy, zesty edge of lime and mainly pale lemon. The finish resembles lemon and yellow plum sorbet, exquisitely fresh and palate-cleansing, yet with exquisite sweetness. Incredibly fine, slender and so balanced.
