Fenocchio's 2014 Barolo Cannubi is pleasant, but also a bit rustic. Mint, dried flowers and sweet red cherry are all pushed forward. There is good depth in the glass, although the tannins remain a bit angular. It will be interesting to see if the 2014 acquires a bit more finesse in bottle.

The 2014 Barolo Cannubi shows some of those herbal, balsam notes that you get in the other wines, albeit with less obvious intensity here. This wine shows good aromatic balance with sour cherry, almond, tar and licorice. There are dusty mineral notes that give extra focus and definition to the bouquet. This is a mid-weight expression with a compact finish and moderate length.
