Tasting notes
Moderately saturated medium red. Expressive aromas of strawberry, mocha and underbrush. Supple but slightly edgy in the mouth, showing a more pronounced herbal and minty aspect than the young 2002. Finishes slightly dry but firm and persistent.

Ruby-colored, and sporting a nose of candied red fruits, the 2001 Chambolle-Musigny is light to medium-bodied, plush, and satin-textured. This sweet cherry and blueberry-dominated wine is pure, supple, and generous. Drink it over the next 5 years. Full, deep red. Cool, floral aromas of strawberry, raspberry, blueberry, minerals and licorice. Supple on entry, with flavors similar to the aromas. Juicy but a bit reduced and slightly dry. But the tannins are ripe. This was from fruit with about 11% to 11.5% potential alcohol, chaptalized to 12%.
