I agree with Pataille that the sample does seem a little oxidised/raisiny. Underneath there is rich but not voluptuous fruit and the tannins are fine and savoury. My score reflects how I imagine the wine to be if the sample were in better shape. (JH)

The 2014 Marsannay les Longeroies has a masculine, tobacco-tinged bouquet with lifted red berry fruits that seem to turn more black with time in the glass. The palate is fleshy on the entry with fine tannin, but I find the finish a little grippy and austere on the aftertaste. Hopefully it will develop more fruit by the time of bottling.
