VNHB. Transparent garnet. Sweet and flattering even if not the purest red burgundy. Some tannin on the end. Should please many. (JR)

Coming from a 40-year-old vineyard just next to Château Pommard, and with a name meaning “The Mole,” the 2022 Bourgogne Rouge La Taupe is up-front and charming, with juicy red cherry and mulberry fruit as well as spicy, leafy herb, and leather-like nuances. It's medium-bodied, round, and supple, with ripe tannins and surprising grip and structure at its price point.

100% destemmed, 10% new oak. Cask sample. Bright crimson. Lots of raspberries, and quite a chunk of tannin. Fresh and juicy. (MH)
