Tasting notes
The 2020 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Aux Cras is excellent, unwinding in the glass with aromas of sweet red berries and plums mingled with woodsmoke, loamy soil and spices. Medium to full-bodied, velvety and enveloping, with lively acids and a long, rose-inflected finish, it's one of the high points of the range.

Sand and chalk over limestone clay. Cask sample. Raspberries and flowers on the nose; blood orange and citrus in the mouth. Firm structure of refined tannins, and a persistence that runs on. (MH)
The 2020 Nuits Saint-Georges Aux Cras 1er Cru has a gentle nose, beautifully defined, a mixture of red and blueberry fruit, wilted violet and light undergrowth scents, gaining intensity with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with supple, but firm tannins, fine acidity, quite grippy with firm backbone on the finish with a tang of black pepper on the finish. You will find few Premier Crus from this appellation better than this (except Mugneret's own Le Richemone!)
