Pale and luminous. Creamy, almost a hint of a white Pessac-Léognan. Crisp and chiselled but with masses of fruit intensity on the mid palate. Fun! (JR)

Cask sample. Racked in September for bottling in March 2017. Mix of old and young vines. (Planted 2003 and 1959.) Spicy nose. Lots of acidity – really salty finish and bright. Long with a good undertow. (JR)

Very ripe aromas of yellow peach, pear and smoke are enlivened by high-pitched brown spices. Fat, ripe and sweet; a round, spicy premier cru with slightly elevated alcohol and a suggestion of lichee. A bit warm for me but this will be a popular style. Finishes a touch dry-edged and phenolic.
