Clerget's 2021 Volnay Village is immensely charming, bursting with aromas of smoky berries and plums mingled with subtle spices. Medium-bodied, supple and succulent, with melting tannins and a saline finish, it will drink well on release.

The 2021 Volnay Village comes from two parcels plus the frost-eviscerated Les Mitans, fully destemmed and matured in used oak. Lively red berry fruit mixed with shucked oyster shells on the nose, this has commendable focus. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly chewy tannins and fine depth for a Village Cru in this vintage with appreciable length.
