Tasting notes
A blend of 60% Sauvignon Blanc and 40% Sémillon, the 2022 Ferrande Blanc reveals a lively, elegant bouquet of smoke, ripe orchard fruits and herbs. Medium to full-bodied, round and supple, it's enveloping with a fleshy core of fruit and a delicately oaky mid-palate that brings to a long, vanilla-pod-inflected finish.

The high percentages of Sauvignon Gris and Sémillon mean that this is a structured white, with mango, white peach and gentle toast, along with mint leaf and sappy salted cracker on the finish. 40% new oak, harvest August 22 to 29 August. Julien Bel consultant since 2021, with a subtle change towards earlier harvests and a fresher style, that has continued even in 2022 (true for reds as well as whites at this estate).
Zesty lemons and a creamy, citrusy finish that is going to be delicious on release and over the next few years.
The 2022 Ferrande Blanc is a tasty white that marries varietal Sauvignon expressiveness with plenty of energy and vibrancy. The Blanc is a bit assertive in its green, vegetal expression of Sauvignon yet also nicely done for an early-drinking white
